Armed with an all-new 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel engine (available January 2007) producing 650 lb.-ft. of torque (881 N•m) and an available six-speed automatic transmission, the 2007 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 Box-off models combine leading commercial power and strength with enhanced handling, safety and durability, successfully blending the needs of the commercial and heavy-duty pickup truck markets.

Dodge Ram Box-off models will continue to feature the 5.9-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel engine (through December 2006), providing 610 lb.-ft. of torque (827 N•m) at 1,600 rpm and 325 horsepower (242 kW) at 2,900 rpm.
An integral component of Dodge’s commercial vehicle program, Ram 2500/3500 Box-off models are adaptable for almost any type of installation, including flat beds, utility/service bodies, stake bodies, landscaping, dry box, aerial devices, rancher bodies and catering applications.

Offering one of the market’s most potent powertrain combinations, the 2007 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 Box-off models come with the standard 5.7-liter HEMI® V-8 or an all-new 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel. Delivering 350 horsepower (261 kW) at 3,013 rpm and a class-dominating 650 lb.-ft. of torque (881 N•m) at 1,500 rpm, the available Cummins diesel offers superior fuel economy while ensuring durability and lower cost of ownership for the commercial customer. Meeting 50-state emissions requirements, the Cummins Turbo Diesel has overhaul intervals of 350,000 miles, providing more than a 100,000-mile advantage over the competition.
The standard 5.7-liter HEMI is a best-in-class V-8 that turns out 345 horsepower (257 kW) for 2500 models or 330 horsepower for 3500 models (246 kW) at 5,600 rpm, and 375 lb.-ft. of torque (508 N•m) at 4,200 rpm.
Available in regular and Quad Cab™ models, frame rail rear spacing of 42 inches and cab-to-axle dimensions of 37 and 56 inches allows easy upfits for commercial buyers’ individual needs. The Dodge Ram 2500 Box-off maximum Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) is 9,000 lbs., maximum payload is 3,700 lbs., and maximum Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) is 20,000 lbs. Dodge Ram 3500 Box-off’s maximum GVWR is 11,500 lbs., with a maximum payload of 5,580 lbs. and best-in-class maximum GCWR of 23,000 lbs.
Built to work as hard as its commercial customers do, Dodge Ram 2500/3500 Box-off models feature 17-inch wheels and tires and an extended driving range due to its large 35-gallon fuel tank.
