Tickle’s consistency gained him one position in the 450MX rider standings. He’s now eighth with two events remaining on the 2013 series schedule.“A solid day today,” Tickle said of his seventh top-10 overall finish of the outdoor season. “The track was really gnarly. We got a bunch of rain last night and it really rutted the course up today. Unadilla is usually slick and fast but today it was muddy and really tough to pass.”Starting 12th in Moto 1, Tickle leveraged a decent race start and consistent ride to finish eighth in the 30-minute – plus two-lap moto. Despite multiple racing lines, the deep ruts made improving track position a rarity in the 450MX class.“The track slowed way down because of the rain,” Tickle added. “The only thing that I could have done better is been a little more aggressive the first minutes (in Moto 1). I may have been able to get a top-five (finish) if I would have played my cards right.”In Moto 2, Tickle looked to press the race pace early but was sluggish out of the gate and was running 12th after the first circuit. The Michigan native had moved up to 10th by Lap 4 and picked up two more positions the next 11 laps.“I tried to be more aggressive in the first half of Moto 2,” Tickle said. “I didn’t break that great from the gate but had some decent corners to put myself in positions to make some moves. It was really hard to pass. I felt like I was running a fifth-place pace but just couldn’t pass guys. If you searched too much for a different line, you put your bike at risk and I didn’t want to get off the beaten path. It was just really tough to pass today.”Ryan Villopoto was dominant en route to the overall victory, finishing first in both motos. Villopoto is in full command of the 450MX rider standings, leading Ryan Dungey by 44 points.Ram Trucks/RCH RacingLucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship - Round 10Unadilla NationalNew Berlin, N.Y.450 MX Class Overall Results1.
