Stellantis Media Site Chrysler Offers Waves of Safety, Utility and Value with 2006 Pacifica Lineup Contact: Amy  Delcamp Beth Ann  Bayus Chrysler Offers Waves of Safety, Utility and Value with 2006 Pacifica Lineup August 31, 2005,  Auburn Hills, Mich. - With its segment-busting innovative flexibility, abundant safety features and classy styling, Chrysler Pacifica was the first wave of sports tourers to land in the market. As the segment has expanded, so has the Chrysler Pacifica lineup. The stylish flexibility of the 2006 Chrysler Pacifica is available in three different models. With an entry-level five-passenger Chrysler Pacifica, a nicely equipped six-passenger Touring model and a top-of-the-line Limited model, Chrysler Pacifica offers a plethora of safety features, clever utility and oceans of value. “Chrysler Pacifica is the right choice for successful individuals who desire a stylish vehicle for an active lifestyle, without compromising safety or utility,” said Jeff Bell, Vice President – Chrysler. “With plenty of room for people and things, the Pacifica also offers peace of mind with its best-in-class safety ratings. “We are proud that Chrysler Pacifica started the wave of NHTSA-rated Five Star vehicles for frontal crash protection from the Chrysler Group,” said Bell. “Beginning with Pacifica, we’ve had an unbroken string of 10 consecutive product launches that achieved the five star rating.” The 2006 Chrysler Pacifica offers the best features of an SUV, minivan and car all rolled into one. The Pacifica features a protective and distinguished “face,” a distinctive broad-shouldered stance, first-class interior, easy step-across entry and exit, available all-wheel drive, three-row side-curtain air bags, driver’s side inflatable knee blocker, driver and passenger advanced multi-stage air bags, anti-lock brakes and fold-flat second- and third-row seats. Chrysler Designers Ride the Crest of a New Wave with the Segment-Busting Pacifica The objective for the Chrysler Pacifica was to design an all-new vehicle that was unlike any other in the marketplace when it debuted as a concept vehicle in 2002. Designers sought to create a vehicle that didn’t conform to the traditional proportions of a car, sport-utility vehicle or a minivan, yet featured the best attributes of all three. Pacifica was developed to offer a first-class, flexible interior experience that didn’t compromise safety and security. The original internal moniker for Pacifica was the “Handsome Protector.” Design cues that bring this designation to life include a broad-shouldered stance emphasized by a protective and distinguished “face” and a sleek, solid exterior with a crisp, distinctive character line that begins at the front wheel opening and ramps up slowly toward the rear to emphasize the beltline. Additional exterior design cues include a unique glass-to-body proportion and wheels that are flush with the body. The Chrysler Pacifica interior follows the same clean, sculptured, precise execution with an emphasis on quality. With a unique “2+2+2” six-passenger seating configuration in the Touring and Limited models, easy step-across entry and exit, and first- and second-row chair height seats that give passengers a sense of security and a commanding view of the road, occupants enjoy a stylish, solid and secure ride. “Our objective was to give first- and second-row passengers the feeling of traveling first-class,” said Joe Dehner, Director—Chrysler Group Design. “Second-row doesn’t mean second-class with the Chrysler Pacifica.” The 2006 Chrysler Pacifica Limited has exclusive design cues including a monochromatic exterior and 19-inch chrome-clad wheels.
