2006 Jeep® Liberty Market Position and Advantages

Auburn Hills, Mich. August 31, 2005 -

Market Position
True to its Jeep® heritage, Liberty stands apart from less capable mid-size sport-utility vehicles. It continues to give enthusiasts a sense of personal capability, freedom and security by offering the most capable four-wheel drive lineup in the segment. Liberty offers the first diesel in the U.S. mid-size SUV segment. With standard Electronic Stability Program, Liberty provides capability, refinement, safety and security in support of the Jeep brand’s push for innovation and market leadership.

Market Advantages
Jeep Liberty stands apart from car-based SUVs in terms of off-road capability, and from truck-based offerings in terms of on-road refinement.

The available 2.8-liter common rail diesel (CRD) provides mileage of 21 city/26 highway, which is up to 32 percent better fuel economy than comparable gas engines, and a highway driving range of approximately 500 miles.

The Electronic Stability Program (ESP) is standard on all models. ESP includes an advanced Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), all-speed Traction Control System (TCS), four-wheel Brake Traction Control System (BTCS), Electronic Roll Mitigation (ERM) and Brake Assist.

The uniquely styled Jeep Renegade has a more rugged purposeful design, including classic Jeep cues — a flat hood, taller grille and taillamp guards — plus functional rock rails, unique “bolt-on” fender flares and optional light bar.
