BROC TICKLE (No. 20 Ram/Sycuan Casino/RCH Racing/Suzuki RM-Z450)
YOU HAD A THIRD-PLACE FINISH AT LAKE ELSINORE LAST YEAR SO YOU MUST BE LOOKING FORWARD TO RETURNING. “I live less than five minutes from the track so it’s cool to drive right down the road to go race. I’m excited about that. Last year was good. I didn’t think the track was that good but I rode it really well obviously. I think it’s really similar to Utah which I thought I rode really well too. I’m looking forward to it.

“Sixth-place in points is kind of out of reach now so the next best thing is to end with the best finish I’ve had all year. That’s the plan.”

TO FINISH INSIDE THE TOP 10 IN RIDER POINTS IS A RESPECTABLE ACCOMPLISHMENT. “For us as racers it’s never good enough. For all of us, it seems nothing is ever as good as we want it to be including the guys that are winning. Even the guys who could win in a moto or get second are disappointed. I’ve been in that spot before where I’ve been on the podium and I’ve been disappointed. That’s just us racers wanting more and that shows that you’re dedicated to do what it takes to be the best.”

HOW IMPORTANT IS IT TO END THE SEASON WITH A STRONG FINISH AT LAKE ELSINORE? “I think it would be good for my momentum going into the off season. I am going to race Monster Cup but I think it would put a smile on my face and provide motivation when we start back testing and training.”

HOW DIFFICULT IS THE SURFACE OF THE TRACK? “This track has been around for a long, long time and the dirt in Lake Elsinore has been the same. It used to be part of a lake so it’s very, very hard. Last year they mixed in a lot of oil and stuff like that but from what I’m hearing the city is not allowing them to do that anymore so we’ll have to see what’s going to be different about it.

“It’s going to be pretty similar to last weekend I think. Last weekend was good but it wasn’t the best dirt on the series. It seems like all the dirt on the west coast is not as good as the dirt on the east coast. On the east coast, you have sand and last weekend they didn’t bring in a lot of sand. I don’t know if they can do that this weekend. We’ll see. It is only five minutes from my house so we’ll have lots of friends and family out here. The whole team – Ricky (Carmichael), Carey (Hart) and everybody – will be here. I’m really looking forward to it.”
