Multiple Displacement System (MDS) is added to the 5.7-liter HEMI engine resulting in improved fuel efficiency (new for 2006). Clean Fuel fleet option for 3.7-liter and 4.7-liter engines (new for 2006). Four-speed (V-6) and five-speed (V-8) speed automatic transmissions. Variable Line Pressure (VLP) feature added to four-speed automatic transmission (mated with 3.7-liter V-6 engine), resulting in improved fuel economy and smoother shifts (new for 2006) Chassis Two new 18-inch wheels are available in cast- aluminum and aluminum chrome-clad. Both wheels are available with either black sidewall or outline white letter tires (new for 2006). 17-inch aluminum wheels are standard on all models. 17-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels are now available on SLT models (new for 2006). Electronic Stability Program (ESP) is standard equipment on Limited, and optional on SXT and SLT models. As a result, traction control is no longer available (new for 2006). Exterior A power liftgate is added as standard equipment on the Limited model and optional on SLT models (new for 2006). Satin Silver accented roof rack is added to all Limited models, as well as embossed Ram's head logos on the front seatbacks (new for 2006). Inferno Red Crystal Pearl Coat replaces Deep Molten Red Pearl Coat (new for 2006). All optional running boards on Limited models are now painted Mineral Gray (new for 2006). Interior A three-passenger 60/40 third-row seat replaces the two-passenger 50/50 third-row seat previously available (new for 2006). Safety and Secuirty Remote start is available on SLT and Limited models (new for 2006). Roll-sensing technology is added to the side-curtain air bag system (new for 2006). Tip start is standard on all models (new for 2006).
