Ahead of National Manufacturing Day, Stellantis Supports Southeastern High School’s New Career Technical Education Annex

October 2, 2025 , Detroit -  Southeastern High School (SEHS), located in eastside Detroit, celebrates the grand opening of its new Career Technical Education (CTE) Annex, made possible by a $4 million contribution from Stellantis.

Representatives from Stellantis’ Detroit Assembly Complex joined school officials, as well as Detroit Public Schools Community District leaders, community partners, students and SEHS alumni, for the ribbon cutting on Sept. 30, 2025, ahead of National Manufacturing Day. Celebrated annually on the first Friday of October, National Manufacturing Day provides opportunities for students to explore career paths in manufacturing.

“This Annex is another example of the support that Stellantis has provided to students at Southeastern High School,” said Christine Estereicher, vice president, public affairs, Stellantis North America. “We have worked with hundreds of students in the last five years, from facilitating classroom training to providing internships at our Detroit plants. The curriculum offered through the CTE Annex will offer students great opportunities to gain hands on career experience.”

The CTE Annex is an 11,000-square-foot facility equipped with welding labs and CNC labs, as well as collaboration spaces and classrooms.

Through the Community Benefits Agreement reached in 2019 as part of the company’s commitment to build a new assembly plant in Detroit, Stellantis has provided educational opportunities for students from Southeastern High School. In addition to the CTE Annex, Stellantis also created the Advanced Manufacturing Career Academy, which is an education-career pathway program that enables students to jump-start their careers in the high-growth, high-demand field of advanced manufacturing.

In 2019, Stellantis (then FCA) announced that it would invest $2.5 billion to convert the former Mack Avenue Engine Complex into a new assembly plant – the first new assembly plant in the city of Detroit in 30 years – and retool the Jefferson North Assembly Plant to support production of the next-generation Jeep® vehicles. The plant started production in 2021 and currently assembles the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Grand Cherokee L, and is the first Stellantis production site in Michigan to build a plug-in hybrid, the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe.
