Stellantis announced today that it will invest a total of $99 million in three North American plants for production of a new four-cylinder turbocharged engine. Investments will be made at the Dundee Engine Complex in Michigan, the Kokomo Casting Plant in Indiana and the Etobicoke Casting Plant in Toronto.

Stellantis announced today that vehicles produced on the new STLA Large platform will be built at the Windsor (Ont.) Assembly Plant. Production of the current L-series vehicles – Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger – at the Brampton (Ont.) Assembly Plant will end when retooling begins in 2024, as announced on May 2, 2022.

Stellantis today announced it would invest a total of $229 million in three of its Kokomo, Indiana, plants to help the company reach its goal of achieving 40% low-emission vehicle sales in the U.S. by 2030. This announcement will retain 662 jobs and comes three months after the company laid out its long-term electrification strategy.
As the all-new, three-row 2021 Jeep® Grand Cherokee L is arriving at dealerships across the country, Stellantis will celebrate the launch of the new plant with the release of a 15-minute documentary film, featuring the people instrumental in bringing the project to life and those who have partnered with the company to bring meaningful change to the city.

Since the Stellantis merger in January, Tavares has visited a total of four U.S. plants, including the Detroit Assembly Complex – Jefferson and Mack plants, and the Toledo Assembly Complex.

The 2021 Jeep® Grand Cherokee L is heading to dealers across the country today. The all-new version of the legendary full-size SUV, now equipped with three rows of seats, is built at Stellantis’ Detroit Assembly Complex - Mack plant on three shifts by more than 4,900 UAW-represented employees.
Radar technology is mounted on robots to measure hundreds of preprogrammed surface and alignment points to verify the build process. This 45-minute validation test is performed on a select number of vehicles across all three production shifts and complements the inline measurement system that measures every Jeep Grand Cherokee L coming through the body shop.

The award recognizes the Toronto-based facility’s employee safety record during the 2020 calendar year, as documented by internal tracking data submitted to NADCA.

Ram announced today that production of the all-new 2021 Ram 1500 TRX has begun at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant in Sterling Heights, Michigan. The first vehicle – VIN No. 001 – is a Ram 1500 TRX Launch Edition adorned in exclusive Anvil exterior paint that will be auctioned for charity.

FCA’s Toledo Assembly Complex this week launched production of the innovative 2021 Jeep® Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid. Assembly of the Wrangler 4xe, including its 17 kilowatt-hour battery pack and 375-horsepower, 470 lb.-ft. of torque electrified powertrain with two electric motors, is integrated into the existing Wrangler assembly line and built on two shifts by more than 3,200 UAW-represented employees at the Toledo North plant in Ohio.
