Chrysler Group All-wheel Drive Fact Sheet

Aspen, Colo. January 31, 2006 -

Several Chrysler and Dodge vehicles are available with all-wheel-drive systems to offer additional all-weather traction. These systems are completely automatic and invisible to the customer — quietly and dependably providing more security over various road conditions, as well as additional performance on dry pavement.

Full-Time, Mechanical All-wheel Drive
Description: Delivers torque to all four wheels, all the time. The all-wheel drive systems allow the front and rear driveshafts to rotate at different speeds as required for smooth operation on dry pavement. Chrysler Group uses three different full-time, mechanical all-wheel-drive systems — one shared by the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Magnum, another in the Chrysler Pacifica and the third in the Dodge Durango. Each is designed for optimum performance in its market segment.

Customer benefit: Adds more traction on snow, ice and other low-traction surfaces without having to be switched on and off.

Availability: Chrysler 300, Chrysler Pacifica, Dodge Durango, Dodge Magnum

Two-speed, Full-time, Mechanical All-wheel Drive
Description: Provides torque to all four wheels, all the time, with a selectable low-range ratio for conditions that need added low-speed power. In the all-wheel-drive position, the center differential allows the front and rear driveshafts to rotate at different speeds as required for smooth operation on dry pavement.

Customer benefit: The all-wheel-drive position provides more traction on snow, ice and other low-traction surfaces without having to be switched on and off. Low range offers advantages in slow-speed technical driving or when pulling a boat trailer out of the water.

Availability: Dodge Dakota (class exclusive), Dodge Durango

Electromagnetically Coupled All-wheel Drive
Description: Works on demand, driving only the front wheels until power to the rear wheels is needed. All-wheel drive is also used on dry pavement between speeds of 25 and 65 mph to enhance handling during performance driving.

Customer benefit: Provides added traction on snow, ice and other low-traction surfaces without having to be switched on and off.

Availability: Dodge Caliber
