January 31, 2006 - Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Description: Senses and prevents wheel lockup during braking. If wheel lockup does occur, ABS will activate to reduce brake pressure at the wheels to provide maximum pressure without lockup. Customer benefit: Provides stability and steerability during braking on every surface. Availability: All Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep® vehicles Traction Control Description: Observes and monitors each wheel and helps to keep the driving wheels from spinning during acceleration from a stop or during slow speeds by applying brakes to the slipping wheel(s). All-speed traction control adds throttle control to decrease engine torque as needed to control wheel spin. Customer benefit: Enhances mobility and prevents wheel-slip when accelerating on slippery surfaces. It also provides a measure of directional stability control. Availability: Traction Control: Chrysler Pacifica, Chrysler PT Cruiser, Chrysler Sebring, Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Caravan, Dodge Neon, Dodge Stratus All-speed Traction Control: Chrysler 300, Chrysler Crossfire, Dodge Caliber, Dodge Charger, Dodge Durango, Dodge Magnum, Jeep Commander, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Liberty Electronic Stability Program (ESP) Description: Enhances driver control and helps maintain directional stability under all conditions. If there's a discernible difference between what the driver asks through the steering and the vehicle's path, ESP applies selective braking and throttle input to keep the vehicle on the driver's intended path. Customer benefit: Enhanced vehicle stability on all surfaces. It provides the greatest benefit during critical driving situations such as turns, and is especially valuable when driving on mixed surface conditions such as snow, ice or gravel. Availability: Chrysler Crossfire, Chrysler 300, Dodge Caliber, Dodge Charger, Dodge Magnum, Dodge Durango, Jeep Commander, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Liberty Electronic Roll Mitigation (ERM) Description: Observes and monitors the vehicle roll attitude and lateral force and estimates the potential for a rollover situation. ERM applies a burst of full braking power to the appropriate wheel to help stabilize the vehicle and reduce the lateral force.
